AB OBJECTIVE: This study tried to reveal the present status and the
obstacles to execute the operation of the HIV case tracing. METHODS: The
staff of this project made questions and got answers directly from the
infected persons with the uniformal questionnaire. RESULTS: We evaluated
100 cases. 1) The material contains 84 males and 16 females; aged from
17 to 73; 53 AC, 6 ARC and 17 AIDS; 43 homosexuals, 34 heterosexuals, 16
hemophiliacs, 3 IVUs, 3 blood recipients. 2) 17 cases asserted on chance
to give HIV, 83 cases had risk behaviors before they knew the fact. 32
of them produced none getting HIV, 30 had no information, and 21
communicated HIV to a person or more. 3) The HIV tracing was difficult
for us in 71 cases. 4) In these cases, we calculated 120 reasons in all
(multiple answers); 50 cases because of having risk behaviors in foreign
countries, 35 cases having multiple chances to get HIV, and 13 cases
making no notification to whom they concerned. DISCUSSION AND
CONCLUSIONS: We have many difficulties in these practices. In order to
clear them, it is necessary for us not only to establish trustful
relationship between PWA and us, but also to recognize the value of the
tracing. We concluded that it is basically important for general citizen
to get strategies for making consensus of living with persons with HIV
and AIDS.
